Quick report
Began our ski descent of the Nisqually Chute at noon exactly. There was a 6" crown that spanned the entire entrance of the chutes (see photo). Observed a significant amount of wet loose debris at the base of the chutes from all aspects (see photo). It was sunny with minimal winds so we were eager to ski as early as possible. As we descended, we observed that East-facing aspects on the chutes were the most reactive and released lots of sluff when skied, although it did not consolidate. We also observed a couple of small rocks falling into the ski line from the skier's right rock band. The debris was manageable to ski with some softening and could be mostly avoided by taking a skier's right line. With warm days approaching, our group recommends skiing the line in one long pitch. It skied excellent!
