Quick report
Summary: Traveled to 6400' on Iron Peak and skied a rib on the SW. No avalanches observed and no signs of instabilities. Felt like a low hazard day for avalanches. We got 6-10cm of new snow at ridgetop with 2-3 at the base. Light winds from the SE, occasional moderate gusts but didn't seem to move much snow. Light snow (S-1) increasing to heavier snowfall (S2) by the end of the day. Skiing above 5000' was enjoyable. The solstice crust was supportable and edgable and far exceeded expectations. Below 5k the solstice crust was very breakable and very marginal skiing. Our greatest risk was probably here. Snowpack: Seems pretty stable, though I didn't dig. Just guessing with the amount of water we have had in the past week. We are averaging 75cm height of snow at the 3800' while at 5500' was about 125cm. Tried probing for the 12/7 crust but it was barely discernible. Would definitely go skiing again tomorrow!
