Quick report

Cracking
specific

New snow in the Crystal area varied from about 5 inches at the parking lot to 9 at ridge elevation. Despite the high forecasted winds, there was not widespread wind loading occurring. There was certainly evidence on specific terrain features and locations with some cracking, but noting we saw had stiffened into a cohesive enough slab to slide either naturally or due to a trigger. The crust from yesterdays rain was very thin and easily breakable and the old snow below the recent storm snow was still wet.
