Quick report

Ski toured up road 7240 in Tronsen non-motorized area between 8 and 10 am. It was cold when I started (mid 20s F) which tracks with weather station readings. Height of snow varied from 39 cm near the car to 51 cm at the end of the road. Snowpack consisted of about 18 cm of new storm snow from the weekend over a 4 cm thick crust over about 18 cm of storm snow from last week on the ground. The crust was consistently present regardless of sun exposure. Coverage in the higher terrain looked excellent for this time of year and I saw few rocks exposed on the scree slopes. New snow over the crust was light and fluffy and old storm snow was still dry. Ski pen was about 12 cm. Foot pen was most of the way to the ground.
