Storm snow was variably bonded to underlying snow. Whumphing was heard after the avalanche, but not before. No shooting cracks observed.

Two skiers went over a convex roll in the hemispheres area off of chair 8. The avalanche broke on the convex roll, with an approximately 50 cm crown that propagated approximately 75 m laterally. The first skier skied out, while the second was caught and buried. The buried skier managed to get an arm above the snow surface and clear their face. They were quickly found, and dug out with no injuries.
