Quick report

Cracking
specific

There were crowns from yesterday and a debris path from a skier triggered avalanche that we used to escape over to as we worked our way up pickhandle. Every line had stable steep entrances but then very reactive apron on the exit requiring us to escape D1-D2 avalanches. 1-2 ft Crowns propagated about 50 ft and ran full length. Debris was soft and ran slowly.

We caused several D1-D2 avalanches working our way up pickhandle, the steep entrances were stable without distinct sharp cornices but the apron was very reactive. We were generally skiing the steeps then exiting left onto slide paths to escape the avalanches. Crowns were propagating about 50 feet and slides were running full length. Debris was soft and ran slowly on the underlying crust.
