Avalanche Information

Skier dropped over a unsupported convexity and triggered a storm slab on second turn. Skier had enough speed to ski out. Crown line was 20cm at deepest point and 5-10 in other spots. From observations earlier in the morning, snow was dry and unconsolidated on similar aspects and slope angles. By afternoon, the snow was becoming heavier and starting to form slabs. Quickly after fracturing the slabs fell apart and the snow travelled more as sluff. The snow ran on a hard surface, perhaps a wind packed layer from recent outflow winds. Skier skied similar convexity on same slope angles earlier in the morning, 930 am, with only sluff.
