- <p> The recent winds and an inch of snow have created some very isolated wind drifts that did crack when I stomped around on them. The wind direction from the north loaded some small terrain features where I was finding some hollow and very shallow wind slabs. I did not find anything too connected or deep and would think these should settle out quickly. </p>
A cold day with mostly cloudy skies early, then some brief periods of sunshine. Temperatures stayed cold and the light winds from the north put a real chill in the air.
Recent winds have been blowing both up slope and cross loading open areas with winds from the north creating some textured snow and some isolated wind drifting. On certain terrain features shallow wind drifts would crack when approached, but nothing was too connected where I traveled.
Just a photo of some older sluffing of the weak surface snow from this long period of clear days and cold nights.

Maybe an inch or two of new snow from a couple days ago did not change conditions a whole lot, but the up tick in winds created some very localized wind drifts on unusual aspects.
