Quick report

Aspect
North
Red Flags
Cracking, Rapid Warming, Poor Snowpack Structure
Elevation
3200 m
Slope Angle
34°

I dug a quick pit to do a CT on a very protected North aspect, 10,500'.

HS 95

CT3@ 80cm N/O snow interface

CT12@65cm from the previous storm

I booted up some steep terrain above this pit and did not trigger any significant slough and the 65cm weak layer was very isolated to pockets that never saw the sun.

Instability Comment

I think the main problem moving into tomorrow is all the new snow heating up. There will be many wet loose slides on solar aspects.

8" of fluff blanketed most aspects accept where the wind got to it. Upper elevations had wind skins about 3" deep but did not find much wind loading.
