Snowpack tests gave mixed results, but the structure of the snowpack is the main concern. We felt that many high elevation slopes have been blasted by winds. The most likely place to trigger a slide is near and just below treeline where strong winds drifted some snow on top of this snowpack structure.

The photo below shows an obvious grey stripe of facets just above the shovel blade.

<p>The layers of buried facets feel like they are teetering near their breaking point but it's a little hard to assess just how close they are. Overall, we don't trust them.</p> <p>Winds midweek moved a lot of snow. Slabs of wind drifted snow alone are minimal concern now. The concern are places where wind loading has added a slab and extra weight to the snowpack to stress buried PWL's.</p>

About 15 inches of new snow last weekend followed by strong winds midweek plus about 4 the previous day has really filled in the area with snow. Coverage looks a lot better and riding quality has improved significantly.
