Pit: Mill Creek, 10900', NE, 25 deg. HS 125cm. ECTN13 at 12cm, ECTN20 at 22cm. 4-8+mm rounding chain depth hoar in bottom 20cm of pack. Facets right on the ground were slightly moist.

Instability Comment
<p>Local to ridges many lee areas have slab overlaying faceted, weak snow beneath. Likely stubborn but the set up is there for potential issues. Continued loading with wind and coming precipitation will only increase this hazard.</p>

Very nice dry snow on NW-NE above 10,000' on slopes 20 deg. and steeper. Local to ridge wind crust present on all aspects at 11,000'. Melt Freeze Crust about everywhere else.
