Mount Apps

Drove to around 350m and toured up Apps on 20th/21st. Snow was wet and heavy yesterday and breakable crust today at higher elevations with a firm layer that could be felt ~30cm below the surface. We observed some shooting cracks (see photo) and whumphing when skinning near the summit. With the visibility and our observations, we opted to the ski the shoulder and east trees off of the ridge instead of the Apps North Bowl. No avalanche activity or reactivity was observed when skiing this terrain.
