Pockets of the recent storm/wind slab were reactive creating shooting cracks 10+ m across and down slope.
The slab was starting to feel like mashed potatoes, 23 cm thick with a density of 235 kg/m3, because I never go anywhere without my field density kit and 1m folding ruler.
Where we rode the slab was resistant to sliding but I could imaging it causing problems in steeper more planar terrain.
