Quick Observation

We are still feeling that early February rain crust! Hopefully by this Saturday, we should be free of that problem. However, the buried sun crust and more deeply buried rain crust, along with recent wind and storm slabs, will keep us on alert. Thanks to Ullr for sending us more new snow. Keep those tips up!

Avalanche Information

1st lap: Ripple Ridge down to Twin Lakes was wind scoured down to rain crust for the first 100 meters. Brutal until we got down to the glades. 2nd lap: Muffin North was stellar as our run was on a Lee slope - Moderate to strong ridge top winds from the west. Two small avys from two skiers starting at ridge top. One was a slab with a short runout but the second was more intense because it ran 100 meters.
