Avalanche crest & moraines - SPLITFEST

Great day skiing avalanche crest and moraines. No major signs of instability. A couple small point source sluffs observed below exposed rock features. Skied SSE facing slope on avalanche moraines, small amount of sluffing observed with minimal runout. Ski cut the slope prior to skiing off avalanche crest. No results so continued down sticking to open trees and avoiding convex areas.

Dug a pit at approx 1950m on a SSE aspect below avalanche moraines. No failures observed on CT. Did a shovel shear on the column to see if we could trigger a release - SP failure approx 80cm down (assumed Dec 26 layer).
