Quick Observation

Wx: -2C when we arrived at 7:30. 5C when we got back to our vehicle at noon. It was overcast & calm while we climbed. The big takeaway from yesterday is the power of the sun this time of year. With a weak overnight freeze it didn't take much for the approach slopes to start softening up. The snow was crunchy & slick on the way up to the climb. On our descent the 'crunch' had disappeared & we even post-holed in a few spots. You do not need direct sun for the snow pack to loose cohesion. Our plan was to climb early & get down early. There is an abundance of hooks to 'soften' the grade, although the pro on the first half of the main curtain wasn't the best. The 'last' pitch had great ice & pro.
