Mount Sproatt wind and ice

Climbed up to the top of Sproatt and earned ourselves about 15 good turns in dry powder. The start of the trail was bereft of snow so we had to bootpack about 150m elevation (to the second building above the cemetery). After that the snowpack was deep enough that it covered every creek crossing. The rest of the climb was mostly fine (took the hanging valley route), if icy and hard until we got out of the trees. From there it was mostly wind affected. The conditions in the treeline shifted from a 2cm hard breakable crust on top of about 15cm dry powder (below that was the real unbreakable crust), to entirely wind scoured ice. Best snow was in the glades where the wind hadn't affected as much (we were skiing down the N slopes, ie where the wind was coming from, so obviously it was going to be wind affected). The ski out was atrocious, snow hadn't softened at all, so it made for a very long and slightly scary time.
