Pow Summit!

It's been a long wait but it finally looks like touring season! Extremely deep pow day at bow summit, stayed in more mellow terrain & at treeline.

Went to explore around bow summit, ski cut a number of steep convex rolls on the way up at and below treeline & got no results. Dug a pit at treeline, 65cm snowpack, ECTP 12 failing 35cm down on a thick crust above base facets. Snow was significantly deeper where we rode, up to 1m & although we had a result on the ECT, we couldn't get the layer to react with skis on. Didn't hear any woofing, wind picked up & was moving snow at and above treeline as we were leaving. Lots of signs of recent avalanche activity.
