Tip Toe We Go

Today at Belle we were happy to see the snow falling, but still had to hold the throttles back as there is only 65 cm of snow at the cabin. We carefully picked our way up to Big Belle to asses the windslabs; still there, still reactive. In sheltered locations at treeline, we found surface hoar down 25 cm from the top of the snowpack. This is worth keeping an eye on as we get more snow and this layer is put under more stress. Pray for snow.
