Quick Observation
First day up at Pedley this year. There had been a widespread natural cycle during the last storm. Almost every path/opening in the trees had run. Alpine had quite a bit of activity too but fewer visible crowns than treeline. Bed surfaces were 20-30cm above the ground. HS was ~90cm and the early Dec crust was ~50cm down. It was only a few cm thick and not bridging the basal facets. We had some large rolling whumphs in the trees and up on the ridge. The day was warm and sunny and the snow surface was becoming moist on 25 degree south slopes by the end of the day. Still skied great though!
