12/28/24, Touring up to Glidden Ridge saddle, at approximately 6250 elevation. As I stomped my ski an obvious sudden collapse of the snowpack (whompf) occurred. I could literally feel it in resonate into my body. Slope we were climbing was approx 25 degrees steepness, but no movement of snow. A hasty pit with ski poles noted no results. Ski pole poke into snow had a crust layer about 50cm down. Snow above crust layer seemed consolidated, but definitely wind affected.
