Variable conditions currently exist across all aspects and elevations. Much of the exposed upper elevation terrain either has a wind skin or a breakable sun crust, and only in very sheltered primarily North facing aspects at mid elevations can soft snow be found.
Experienced stable conditions throughout our travels. We noticed some cracking isolated underfoot, but this was due to a 1cm thick breakable sun crust. Any old wind slabs that existed were unreactive. Wind effected surfaces felt more like a wind skin than a proper wind slab.Weather

Dark bluebird day, with a few high clouds filtering in and out. Calm winds, and temps hung around the low to mid teens for much of the day.
Snowpack
Strong temperature gradient of a >1 degree celcius change over every 10cm in the upper 40cm of the snowpack, with well developed facets in the upper 1 meter. Widespread surface hoar observed up to 6500' that were 2-4mm. On a E/SE aspect at 6300' the top 1cm of the surface was a breakable sun crust with 1-2cm of decomposing fragments and near surface facets below. This layer was sandwiched between another 1F breakable sun crust that was also 1cm thick. The remainder of the snowpack had an overall right side up hardness profile below 2nd crust.
