Quick report
Recent avalanche activity, inverted slabs and very challenging travel conditions were enough to deter us from venturing very far. An early retreat was the order of the day.
Weather
Brief period of overcast skys around 10AM between burst of precipitation that were heavy at times. Snowline was approximatley 5400' at 2PM. Temperature was about 34 degrees Fahrenheit at noon.
Snowpack
4 to 6 inches of saturated snow overlays dryer recent snow beneath. Hight of new snow ranged from 75 to 105 cm along our route depending on drifting. Pit tests showed multiple CT and ECTN results in storm snow. Strong southerly winds were redistributing any available surface snow. Surface snow was heavy and wet, but not supportable, leading to deep ski penetration into drier snow below.

From Eagle Ridge we could see at least 6 recent avalanches ranging from a large D2 Storm Slab avalanche that likely occured on Friday March 13th, to several wet loose slides within the past 24hrs. With improved visability and traveling to additonal vantige points we would have likely observed more avalanche activity.
