Quick report

We got ECTX on almost due W face at 7200 ft and 2 pm. Cracking at ECT4 15 cm down, but no propagation. Failure at 55 cm down on stout rain crust at ECT 25, but no propagation. The block sheared cleanly at the 55 cm rain line when we wedged a shovel behind and pulled laterally. Our takeaways were that it was locked up as long as it was supported from downhill. Skiing confirmed this suspicion. At about 6400 ft and 2:30 pm we had to start mitigating rollerballs. None entrained snow, but they were growing as they rolled. Signs of past cornice collapse on the S facing ridge to the N of this observation, but none entrained snow or created a crown. Had to bootpack 1500 ft up before skinning and the same on the way down, not enough coverage until about 5500 ft.
