The wind slabs were scattered at upper elevations, transitioning from firm to soft in a matter of a couple feet. Be on your toes.

Once we got into sheltered lower terrain the snow was much softer and more manageable.

<p>Persisting as the name implies, growing more stubborn.</p> <p>Pencil hard slab above a melt freeze crust covering 4 finger rounding facets. </p> <p>5-10 cm wind slabs scattered on all upper elevations, finding firmer crusts on northern aspects.</p>
