Avalanche: Bloomington Lake Area

Slide broke under and below rider, carried a short distance down and was able to ride out of corner. Transceiver and airbag were worn and bag was not deployed. Group was alerted of slide by radio within 2 seconds and of rider status when slide stopped.

The little slide broke under me and ran out as I stayed calm as I could and rode to where the snow wasn’t moving under me. I was ready to deploy my bag and chose throttle and radio instead. There were not many signs of instability as we rode today but two of us set this hill off in two separate spots within minutes and then felt a large collapse as we were parked nearby.
