- <p>I am amazed at how much can change with a little elevation. Yesterday, only about 1000 feet lower, hand pits showed the new snow sitting on top of a mostly supportable crust from recent warm temps. Today, in the same drainage but higher up, the crust was gone, but the 14 in of new snow was sitting on a 3 in graupel layer. CT25 Q2 on this layer, but no real wind meant just soft slab releases. No real problems right now, just soft slabs, but the moist facets are still at ground level, and the combination of graupel and the facets beneath that could be bad for the future. The good news was a lack of real density changes through out the snowpack. Fist to about 15 in down, trending to 4f until the facets near the ground.</p>

Blower. Great skiing conditions. I was surprised to not find any real windloading on ridge tops. Small cornicing, but nothing slabby.
