Quick report
Skinned up TRT starting around 8:30am. High winds, clouds, and blowing snow all day. Small snow drifts and sastrugi were present especially starting around 3000ft. Poor visibility all day, so no good views up to Hillman's or Tuckerman Ravine, and we did not proceed higher than Hermit Lake (3875ft). Dug a snow pit near Hermit Lake on a wind-loaded NW-facing slope, found a solid layer of basal facets 80-90cm deep. A compression test yielded a clean planar slide off of this layer (CP21 SP). Sherburne trail is skiable all the way to the parking lot, but watch for rocks especially below 3000ft.
