Went to sheltered east facing aspect on 35 degree slope under north gully. Dug a pit and did a compression and ect test. Fail on the 4th elbow tap on burrows freeze layer approximately 50cm down. Failure did not show aggressive proposition, but there was energy in the failure. Snowpack was consolidated on top from recent/ongoing storm, and very loose granulated grains between there and the freeze layer (about 50cm down) Did a second ect on the deeper layer which also failed on elbow tap #3 Moderate winds from the north, light to moderate snow, temps were low teens - turned back and did a sherb lap
