Quick report
We saw widespread wind affect across the terrain, and intense, active wind loading during the morning. Avalanche paths that had slid naturally have been refilled, and reloaded by new snow and winds, and areas that did not already avalanche naturally held two different wind slabs layered on top of each other. Based on the size of recent natural avalanches, paths that have not slid yet are primed for large, destructive avalanches, and paths that have slid this week have new slabs formed by recent winds, and well filled in paths that could allow future avalanches to travel farther than expected

Snowpack
Hand pits dug adjacent to Hillmans Highway showed 1F wind slabs formed during yesterday/today sustained high winds, above a 4F wind slab formed earlier in the week, over F hard snow. A hand shear test saw a reactive failure beneath the old wind slab, above the soft snow. (See photo). Similar findings in Gulf of Slides
