Quick report
Skinned up GOSST, which has impressive snow depth (estimated 2+ feet at the bottom and 5+ feet around 1st first aid cache). Stream crossings just starting to become unskiable today. First ascent (10:30 AM) up Southern Snowfields was firm but navigable without crampons or ice axe. A brief wait at the top for the sun to emerge from behind a cloud yielded a beautiful corn surface, and skied down the way we came up. Ascended S. Snowfields again for a walk across the top to go ski Boot Spur Fingers. Began skiing Boot Spur Fingers at about 1PM. One wind slab at the top that we skirted around out of caution. As forecast suggested, warming changed snow significantly. Through the middle of the descent there were some large rollerballs (possibly from day before), some new, small wet loose activity, and what appeared to be a very small wet slab (maybe 3 feet wide) that ran down only a very short distance (15 feet) but that appeared to be distinctly different from the other wet loose type of slides. In the runout where the pitch lessened, skis penetrated 8+ inches, which was fun to ski but suggested very soft snow. Seemed like a good time to be done.
