On our way down Logan Canyon this afternoon, we observed numerous small loose avalanches of moist fresh snow on steep slopes in the lower part of the Canyon. When we got down to the bottom, we could see a couple more above First Dam. These ran pretty far, but when they happened when the snow was powder, so they were fairly harmless. As temperatures warm we expect loose wet avalanches that will entrain heavier and deeper piles on the same very steep low elevation slopes.
