Quick report
Surface hoars below the new snow from the last February storm cycle Snow instability was found ~45cm deep in the snowpack with a surface hoar existing in between storm layers. On South aspects a hand pit test showed that the weak layer was much more susceptible to propagating during a saw propagation test and an ECT during which our result was ECTP24. On Northwest aspects, the snowpack proved to be much more stable and somewhat 'stubborn.' During four total ECT tests no propagation resulted. Both tests were taken at or near an elevation of 6400ft.
