Quick report
Avi 2 field day observations: We skied to Beaver Ponds via the East aspect off the back of Flower Point chair. We skinned up a North aspect near the Kona area. We dug 3 pits at various elevations on this slope around 6400’ elevation. The only significant finding we observed was an ECTN24. This failure was not at the thicker crust layer and it was not a smooth, clean break. Through the afternoon, the wind and snow picked up. There was more cohesion within the new snow as the day progressed. Hand pits revealed a potential storm slab at a wind exposed area on the saddle and ridge between a North and South aspect.
