Elevation: 6600ft Aspect: South Snow depth: 160cm Drove up to the Six Mile Trail #10 TH in truck with all terrain tires. Snow on the road was packed down well. Skinned to the flat above the south facing ridge SE of Sixmile. Lapped the low angle ridge. Snow was incredible. No results from a compression test at 6600ft on 20 degree South facing ridge. After the test, wailing on our column caused the storm slab to fracture. Then, wailing on the snow below the storm slab caused a fracture in the crust layer at 95cm from surface. We saw no evidence of any major wind effect. Snowpack observations from our pit: Pencil hard crust layer 95cm from surface overtop faceted snow Above the crust from 95 - 60cm above surface: four finger firm snowpack From 60cm - surface: fist soft new snow
