Like the transition of “Great Gig in the Sky” to “Money” as Judy Garland walks into a technicolor dreamscape some things line up perfectly. Consistent cold temps, low to medium density powder and picking the right ski or board for the day. -After hearing several audible collapses along the skin track we adjusted our terrain choices to under 35 degrees where snow was deep and smiles were big. -Continued snow fall and low wind speeds though out the day was a pleasant surprise. -Found FAC forecaster, MD, checking out recent human triggered avalanche. Thanks for being out there team! Had 2 small collapses and one booming on snow that had two distinct stacked sun crusts with layers of buried facets on S/SW facing slopes. No cracking noted today on isolated wind slabs.

Snowpack
Found wind textured snow in open areas with small areas of sun crust from last Thursday afternoon. Up to 30 cm of recent snow from the last 48 hours. Sheltered terrain offered up great conditions in various locations and aspects.
