Quick report
Our crew stuck to lower angled, sheltered terrain today on a SSE aspect today. New snow accumulations were graupel like, and estimated to be ~4 inches on trail, and ~10 inches at our high point, Winds came and went throughout the day. New snow was actively being transported throughout the area, especially up high. While the new snow we traveled hadn’t been seriously affected by the wind just yet, based off the winds we were experiencing at our high point (6,600ft), I would anticipate a more substantial effect to have taken place up higher and around less sheltered terrain. Throughout the day, no novel instabilities were noted (i.e cracking, collapsing, whoomfing, recent slides, etc.). Snow was largely unconsolidated, light, and dry between 4 and 6,600ft.
