Our trip took us from Eagle Point Resort to three creeks lake then east towards big flat. Along the way I saw multiple cracks and/or cracking in the snow as seen in the pics below. There was anywhere from 2', in the open flats, to 3', in the trees of low density fresh snow. We dug a test pit on a NNE facing slope at 8900 and found the the new snow (while still soft) had already begun to bond into a problematic slab. Two ECT tests revealed full propogation @30cm in depth from the surface. This is the new snow/old snow interface which appereared to be a melt/freeze crust. Currently, conditions are showing instability in the region with a forming "connected slab" on top of a persistant weak layer.

- <p>After a significant amount of snow fall earlier in the week, we found anywhere from 24 to 30" of new low density snow on top of a melt/freeze crust. The new snow appeared to be bonding together (slab) and after to ECT test we saw full propogation at this layer after 12 and 15 taps. ECTP12 and ECTP15.</p>
