new snow of 7" siting on a rain crust which is siting on damp supportable snow.
The story today is the heat wave and the warm storm. I observed numerous crowns on steep east facing aspects that ran during the rain at about 8500k. Also a large pile of wet debris in the Davis Gulch that had run almost to the main gk gulch. These were all sitting under a few inches of fresh snow.
But of real interest was the wet slide that I watched happen at 2pm on the Bob Sled (main gk gully). Started as just a few rollers and became quite a bit larger running 1/2 track. All from a slight kick west of this run and the sun had clocked over just enough.
That said the snow seemed quite stable. Above 9500k the wind had worked its magic and the snow was a mix of ice/wind skin/fresh snow
