Unseasonably frigid overnight lows allowed most aspects to stay cold and dry until 10 o’clock this morning. After that point, east, south, and low angle north and west took on heat and got damp. Slope cut on far riders right NE entrance to the Dog Lake Chutes easily triggered a Wet Loose slide that quickly fanned out and entrained all the new snow running on the pre-storm crust.
NNE-N-NW aspects with slope angles 25 degrees and greater had excellent bottomless stable riding in 45 cm of rightside up structure. No Red Flags observed besides the typical spring warming issues. The last two nights of cold low temperatures appear to have eliminated the wet grain weaknesses on the aforementioned polar aspects.
