As we’ve seen/heard from the forecasters, the slabs are getting stronger but there’s still lots of potential for propagation should you impact that Jan 4 layer. Especially with our findings of a reactive layer above the Jan 4, a small slide could quickly step down to make for a much larger avalanche. Noticed collapsing in areas of shallower snowpack in the flats, near tight trees, and near rocks, but much deeper snow up high.

Warm and humid with broken clouds/fog throughout the day. Lower elevation snow was extremely heavy and caused a party member’s skins to glop up.

Pit @ 9700’ NNE aspect on 20° slope HS 160cm ECTP23 on a storm layer down 60cm ECTPX on Jan 4 but got propagation with a little extra pressure from a boot stomp. Down 90cm on FC
