Traveled to the higher elevations around the alpine to check how wind over the last 24 hours has changed conditions. Variable wind direction from 300-260 degrees (WSW-WNW) has loaded and cross loaded terrain. Found cross loaded N aspects with fresh slabs less than a foot deep. Found wind loaded westerly slopes that were stubborn to trigger, indicating that wind slabs are not widepsread and on specific terrain. Obvious signs of wind affect were very apparent, cue into these clues Saturday and Sunday. There's a significant amount of wind scour especially in the high peaks.
Mid elevations experienced significant warming on solar aspects with mostly clear skies. Upper elevations held more cloud cover around the big three peaks, creating periods of poor visibility.
Winds are forecasted to stay around 20mph through the night and possibly increasing at sunlight tomorrow so be on the lookout for more slabs forming on a variety of terrain with shifting wind direction.
