Quick report
See above for avalanche notes. Snowpack seems more stable than in past weeks, but the deep, persistent layer is obviously still a danger given the large crowns we observed. Snow has seem to settle and become heavier since the one by 2 feet received in the last three days. We also encountered a large percentage of wind affected snow, as we gained elevation and exposure. This could contribute to a wind slab, although we did not encounter a significantly large or thick, when slab.
Avalanche
Tons of slough avalanches and large releases with visible crowns. One crown extended more than a kilometer. Activity scene on all aspects, mainly observed above 10,000 feet.
