Quick report

Widespread wind effect starting just above the road. Mostly supportable crust, occasional small pockets of soft snow, occasional breakable crust. 1/2” to 1” soft snow on top of the crust at times. Ridge tops are largely wind-scraped down to rocks. Some anti-tracks seen up high. Quick hand pit at 3150’ showing 4” windslab which is supportable on skis, but boot punches through when stepping off skis. Under this was at least 2 feet of sugary facets (I quit digging and rapidly transitioned and turned around here as the rapid solar warming was making my nerves jangle). But NO shooting cracks, whumpfing or other avalanches seen.

D2 Avalanche of unknown age/trigger found in gully off of Three Bowls to the north of Hap Mtn proper. Suspect natural release during recent wind events, but I wasn’t in that area before today.
