Tumalo

Some whomping and shooting cracks on smaller test slopes on the skin up. A nice 6-12" layer of light snow, with variable wind loading across the slops, on top of a crust layer that was collapsing to the softer snow below it in a few spots. Dig a very small pit on the summit just above the cornice. Found a 12" slab on top of a very reactive weak layer, so we stayed out of the bowl. HUGE cornice buildup which signs of cornice fall in the last few days. Snow on the south aspect in the trees was wonderful.
