Quick report

Ski toured up Mt Lewis. Started as a warm sunny day. Winds began picking up significantly from the south when we arrived at the ridge top. Observed a significant amount of blowing snow. At 11,400 ft on a north aspect I poked around and found 10-15cm of finger hard snow sitting on top of a thick layer of fist minus sugary faceted snow (did not dig to see how deep the facets went) It was a very informal dig around, but overall the snow seemed stubborn. No cracking observed. Skied down before significant wind loading occurred. Snow went from wintery with an old punchy wind layer to soft pow in protected areas, to hot pow, to corn. The snow pack was still very shallow and sharky below 10,000ft in that area.
