Observed punchable crust on N aspect 10600’ while skinning up a drainage. Dug a handpit on E aspect at 11300’ and at 3cm deep found a 3cm pencil hard crust that supported skis on our 11:50am descent, and 8cm from surface a 1cm knife crust, snow just beneath that seemed well bonded. Great corn skiing! While exiting the basin we felt/heard a near surface collapse in an isolated fairly flat but slightly N facing roller around 9800’ around 12:30pm. Observed small cornices on nearby N aspects around 12000’ and did not observe any failures or debris. Good coverage, we were able to ski almost all the way back to the car. While exiting the basin we heard & felt a near surface collapse on a fairly flat but slightly N facing roller around 98000’
