Quick report
- Cracking
- isolated
We looked at as many aspects as we could today focusing on surface, and near-surface conditions. We saw minor signs of instability, all very small and most isolated. See photo captions for details.
We triggered very small sluffs that didn't run far, we saw very small natural sluffs on the Mammoth Crest. We got one crack through a 2-inch thick, hard wind slab at a kick turn near treeline. It broke on non-persistent grains.Weather

- small smounts
Mostly cloudy and scattered light snow showers all day. Trace new accumulation. Winds organized themselves and shifted to the northeast midday, though they were still light at the ridge. No blowing snow. It felt pretty warm whenever we were hit by a patch of sun. It was chilling in the north wind at the ridge.
Snowpack
We checked on how much snow was available for increasing north wind to transport and what kind of snowpack it would be drifting onto. See photos and photo captions.
