Quick report
Not the best coverage over shrubs and rocks, but parts of East Slope and Jawbone where I traveled had ~10" of really light, fluffy powder. In the steeper sections where there was old snow present, the light snow was prone to sliding off the hardened crust. Leading up to this last storm, we transitioned from warm to cold overnight temps again. When I was out this morning it was 12F, and the winds have been very calm the last couple of days. I ascended a small, intact snow field on the east slope, then traversed the old road cut and continued to follow the most contiguous path of snow until my turnaround just above the waterfall in Jawbone Canyon. Only small rollers observed. If it gets windy perhaps there is potential for steep rocky areas to become more loaded up with snow. The buried old ice layer could also present a surface for the new snow to slide on in bigger terrain. I think we can expect to see more rollers as things warm up throughout today, and places prone to point releases from rock features will release as the rocks warm up.
