1100-1700 16FEB2024… partly sunny… multiple areas with sun rollers observed throughout BWRA from 8400’ - 9400’ on NW/N/NE aspects with 35-45 degree slope angles… observed cornice that partially collapsed under solar loading on the NW spur of Kennedy Peak… did not propagate beyond initial collapse… todays solar/temp conditions caused incredibly variable snowpack on SW/S/SE aspects… on those SW/S/SE aspects at 1400: 7800-8900’: 45 degF air temp, wet snow 9600’: snow melt/freeze line 9850’: 36 degF air temp, powder 9900-11,500’: 30 degF air temp, wind buff with 2-3” crust, scattered boilerplate requiring either ski/boot crampons sporadically snowfall began at this location at 1630 <0.5” hr rate
